USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of Service or from Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of app usage).

VENUES means places that provide or submit information intended to advertise or showcase their products and services

DEVICE PERMISSIONS

Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device data that apps cannot access without the device owner’s permission and usually seek these permissions before the first use of the app, and use of the app constitutes a grant of such permission.

Cawine requires the following permissions to operate normally

For Vendor/Venue:

  • CameraTo take photos to be used for gallery and capture live video for streaming.
  • Storage To store and retrieve media captured by camera to be used for advertisement.
  • Microphone To record sound while live streaming
  • Location To easily guide clients to the venue

 For Client:

  • CameraTo take photos to be used as profile pictures.
  • Storage To store and retrieve media captured by camera to be used for profile.
  • Location To enable Cawine determine Venues/vendors within Client proximity and guide them there as and when required

USE OF DATA

Cawine uses the data to provide, personalise, maintain, and improve our products and services.

This includes;

  • Creating and updating Client/ Venue/Vendor accounts
  • Using user ratings and feedback to encourage compliance with our standards and instill fair competition amongst Venues
  • Customer Support: Cawine may use data to contact Venues for purposes of training or any other support as and when it may be required.
  • Research and Development to guide product and service improvement
  • To notify you about changes to our service
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
  • Marketing: Cawine may use the data we collect to market our services to our users. This includes, but not limited to sending users communication or notifications about services, features, special offers, promotions, updates and events.
  • To monitor the usage of our Service
  • Automated decision-making: Location data may be used to determine nearby venues based on pre-determined radii
  • To provide you with notices about your account and/or subscription, including expiration and renewal notices, email-instructions, etc.
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.
  • To fullfil any other purpose for which you provide it

 

DATA DISLOSURE

Cawine may share the data we collect:

  1. With Venues/Vendors:

Rating, feedback and Nickname of client

  1. With Clients:

Business name, location, rating, comments, contact, likes, special offers, Cawines, gallery, live feed, menu, profile picture and work schedule.

  1. With Cawine’s service providers and business partners

These may include:

  • Payment processors and facilitators
  • Marketing partners and marketing platform providers, including social media advertising services
  • Data analytics providers
  • Research partners, including those performing surveys or research projects in partnership with or on Cawine’s behalf
  • Vendors that assist Cawine to enhance the safety and security of its apps
  • Consultants, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers
  1. Disclosure for Law Enforcement Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
  2. If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others

 DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

 We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

  • We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

  • The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
  • Only selected Cawine staff and partners can access personal data to the extent necessary to provide support as and when required
  • Location data is processed in anonymised form

For research and scientific purposes, the data is used in unidentified form (anonymised)

DATA CORRECTION

You can access and update your personal data via the Cawine app.

 SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), provide Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services or assist us in analysing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

ANALYTICS

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our Service.

  • PAYMENTS 

We may provide paid products and/or services within Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).

We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

We may also use local payment methods like Mobile Money through third party APIs subject to the Policies and Terms and Conditions of the respective Service Providers who are regulated by the Central Bank

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

  • CHILDREN’S POLICY

Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18 (“Child” or “Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Children under 18. If you become aware that a Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from Children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

 We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
